A solid reel for light tackle techniques, the Spirex FG is also a beneficiary of much of Shimano's new technology designed to combat inherent issues with the genereal spinning reel design, such as line twist and line friction. The new Propulsion Line Management System and new Varispeed Oscillation ensure even line lay and that line twist and friction are no longer a problem. In addition to these features and many others, the Dyna-Balance system eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counterbalancing the rotor and the Aluminum Spool uses Shimano's new cold forging technology, maintaining the metal's original strength without sacrificing molecular density.
